Voice acting is poor (even though using many of the actors from the various Trek series), and incorrectly triggered, though music and sound effects are pretty good (when not incorrectly triggered). The AI isnвЂ™t bad, but itвЂ™s not particularly good, either when piloting your ships or the enemy ships. Enemy ships donвЂ™t seem to suffer any visible damage during combat.

You can even see nacelles get blown off into space, while they still remain on the ships themselves. Again, others complained of poor graphics and while they mostly look good, exploding objects break apart into large chunks with poor textures. While some people complained massively about the controls, I found it not much different to controlling something like Tomb Raider, i.e. The game itself is obviously a console port, with clunky, non-remapable PC controls. You can't remember the settings, and have to reset everything to the way you want your match to be set before every game. Skirmish mode is basic, only allowing you to choose your own ships, not the ships you will be fighting against (the computer assigns those automatically), so no recreating the battles from the movies. The various promised modes like King If The Hill or Convoy are absent, you can either play Deathmatch or Cooperative (against endless waves of enemies), and that's it. For every time I've managed to get into a game and experienced the small maps and massive lag, I've had twenty complete system lock-ups when I try to select a server. Like skirmish mode, everything has to be selected from scratch, as setting are not remembered between sessions. You can't see what servers are full, the whole server seems to crash when a game finishes or a team is beaten, you can't see pings to servers, etc. Most people experience crashes when entering a game, and various other bugs about.

Multiplayer is very buggy, to the extent that a patch had to be released just to make it work at all on release day. Even the comic-strip style 'Extras' to try and expand the plotline is badly bugged for many people, stuttering badly every few seconds and all but unwatchable. In fact, one of the authors of the aborted storyline has a thread running in the Bethseda Star Trek Legacy forums in order to explain what was supposed to be going on. It won't make any sense, because with the number of missions cut right down and the cinematics removed, there is no story to speak of.
